Is playing the PA Lottery online, PA iLottery, legal?

Yes.  

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is responsible for the operation and management of the Pennsylvania Lottery in accordance with the provisions of Act 91 of 1971, P.L. 351, approved August 26, 1971, as amended, known as the “State Lottery Law.”

On October 30, 2017, Act 42 of 2017, P.L. 419 (“Act 42”), commonly referred to as the Omnibus Gaming Bill, was signed into law. Act 42, codified at 4 Pa.C.S. §§ 101 et seq., significantly expanded gaming in the Commonwealth. Notably, Act 42 allowed the Pennsylvania Lottery to operate iLottery. See 4 Pa.C.S. § 503(a).

The PA Lottery began selling online in May 2018.
